Ravi Shastri, who was a commentator in this game, was awestruck by the fiery pace and controlled line and length of Malik’s bowling. He even claimed that the youngster is a future national team player who can turn out to be an asset for India.
“There is no doubting his potential. This guy is an India player. When he is ready, only time will tell but the communication part is extremely important. He should be handled with care and kept in him the mix so that he doesn’t go out of bounds,” Shastri told Star Sports.

He further went on to add “I think he has to be around the mix of the Indian cricket team. The selectors have to watch him closely. He can be part of the extended party of the Indian cricket team in these Covid-19 times. He is consistent and I like his attitude. This kid can only learn.”
Meanwhile, while Malik had a good game against Rajasthan Royals, his team Sunrisers Hyderabad had an awful outing as they suffered a 61-run defeat. Kane Williamson’s team will be desperate to get back to winning ways from the next game onwards.
