IPL 2022: Badoni given AB Baby tag by KL Rahul
- Badoni made heads turn in his debut IPL game for LSG. He scored 54 runs and displayed a wide range of shots.
- The highlight of his dazzling innings was a ramp shot of Hardik Pandya’s bowling over fine leg
- This shot reminded everyone of AB de Villiers. Badoni also scored runs on the onside and offside as well
- There were sweeps, pulls, cut shots, and ramp shots. He displayed a 360-degree ability to score runs
- Impressed with his sizzling stroke play KL Rahul nicknamed him AB Baby
Talking about debutant Badoni, Rahul said: “He’s (Badoni) baby AB for us. He has been phenomenal from the first day. For a little boy, he packs a punch and plays 360 degrees, so happy for him as he grabbed the opportunity. It was not ideal for him to walk out with us four down but he did well under pressure and hopefully, he can continue doing that.”

South Africa’s Under-19 player Dewald Brevis first got the tag of AB Baby due to his similar stroke play as that of AB de Villiers.
Brevis has modeled his game like the legendary South African cricketer. He has a wide range of shots and has the ability to take the game away just like De Villiers.
Brevis displayed his side of AB to the world cricket first at the Under-19 World Cup in 2022 and later for Mumbai Indians in the nets session.
Both Badoni and Brevis are pleasing stroke makers and can score runs 360 degrees just as AB de Villiers.
