Second half goals from Robert Lewandowski and Piotr Zielinski helped Poland beat Sweden 2-0 and qualify for this winter’s World Cup. It was pelting down with rain in Chorzów as Poland, after getting a bye to this round, were hoping to use home advantage to help them claim a World Cup place.

Szczesny made a stunning close-range save to again deny Forsberg, but Zielinski wrapped up the win when he robbed Marcus Danielson and slotted in after 72 minutes, sparking wild scenes of celebration in Chorzow.
