Amidst the fury of the die-hard supporters of Manchester United, both Luke Shaw and Paul Pogba were criticized for their comments regarding the Manchester-based club. Tensions flared last week when Pogba announced that he wanted to win trophies and that the performance of Manchester United over the years has been relatively poor. This season seems no different with the club already being knocked out of the Champions League, FA Cup, and other domestic leagues.

Following England’s 2-1 win in the International friendly against Switzerland, Luke Shaw spoke about how he always felt wanted in his side. Shaw scored an amazing goal for his side after the Euro 2022 finalists conceded an early goal.
“It’s always important to feel like you’re wanted and I think especially here with England I always feel that. I’m not saying I don’t at #mufc but here, the way things are, I feel wanted and I enjoy my football,” said Luke Shaw.
Shaw’s comments were not taken very well by the United faithful and received quite a backlash on social media. The same has also been the case with French midfielder Paul Pogba for his remarks. Pogba is in his last year of the contract and is yet to sign a fresh contract with Manchester United.

Speaking to TeleFoot, Pogba said, “Totally [playing for France is a breath of fresh air]. That’s the truth. There were difficult moments at Manchester United and I needed this break to regain my energy and confidence.”
“Sometimes when I wasn’t playing or the results weren’t good, coming here, it gives a boost, a breath of air that also helps me to come back well to my club.”
