However, Venkatesh Iyer’s 47-ball 87 went in vain as Nitish Rana, Abhijit Tomar and Rinku Singh starred in the chase, helping Team Purple win. Abhijit Tomar slammed a 26-ball 52 while Nitish Rana smashed 29-ball 51. Rinku, who is making a comeback in the KKR team, also scored 22-ball 48.
Kolkata Knight Riders also had their second practise match on Wednesday with Shreyas Iyer’s XI taking on Sheldon Jackson’s XI to prepare for the Chennai Super Kings clash on Saturday. The battle between Team Gold and Team Purple turned out to be a good practice session.
