CSK vs KKR Live – IPL 2022 – Ahead of the opening match of IPL 2022 on March 26, CSK skipper MS Dhoni and KKR skipper Shreyas Iyer have a big headache with five important players including Moeen Ali, Pat Cummins & Deepak Chahar all set to miss out with various reasons. CSK will miss their all-rounders Deepak Chahar, Moeen Ali, and Dwaine Pretorius in the first game while KKR will be without two Australians — Pat Cummins and Aaron Finch. Tim Southee is likely to be available against KKR but there is a question mark on his availability as well. The New Zealander got married on March 20 and could be doubtful for the first match.

Deepak Chahar (CSK) – UNAVAILABLE – Injury – Deepak Chahar has suffered a quadriceps tear and will be out of action for close to four weeks. He is expected to only play in the latter stages of the IPL. CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan told InsideSport that the team is still waiting for an update on Chahar. He will only join the franchise when he gets the all-clear from the NCA.

Dwaine Pretorius (CSK) – DOUBTFUL – South African pacer Dwaine Pretorius is doubtful due to South Africa’s ODI series against Bangladesh. He is expected to join the squad after South Africa’s 3rd ODI against Bangladesh on March 23 just three days before IPL opener against KKR. As he is set to undergo three-day quarantine before entering IPL’s bio-bubble, he will be available only from March 27, missing out on the first match.

Moeen Ali (CSK) – DOUBTFUL – Visa issue – Moeen Ali won’t be available at least for the match against KKR due to visa issues. He has been awaiting clearance of his documents by the Indian High Commission in the UK.

“He had applied for his visa on February 28. It has been more than 20 days since the application was submitted. He has been a frequent traveller to India and yet he has not got the travel papers. We are hoping he will join the team soon. He has told us that he will take the very next flight after getting the papers,” said Kasi Viswanathan, the CEO of the franchise on Saturday (March 19).

Kolkata Knight Riders are also plagued with missing players. Two Australian captains — Pat Cummins and Aaron Finch — will be available only from April 6. However, both Australians will have to serve a three-day quarantine, meaning they will be available only from April 10.

Aaron Finch (KKR) – UNAVAILABLE – Australia Tour of Pakistan – The Australian limited-overs captain will be last to arrive after leading the side in the three-match ODI and a one-off T20 against Pakistan. Not just the first match, he will miss out on at least first five games for KKR.

Pat Cummins (KKR) – UNAVAILABLE – Australia Tour of Pakistan – The Australian Test captain will join the KKR squad on March 26 and will enter a 3-day quarantine after the three-match Test series against Pakistan. However, he will miss at least the first four matches as Cricket Australia has denied NOC before April 6.

Tim Southee (KKR) – DOUBTFUL – Wedding – The veteran Kiwi pacer is expected to play an important role in KKR’s campaign. But after his wedding on March 19, he is yet to join the squad and as he will need to spend three days in quarantine, he is also doubtful for the first match.
