Asia Cup 2022 will now be played in Sri Lanka in T20 format starting from August 27- to September 11 in 2022. The Qualifiers for the same will be held from August 20 onwards.

Addressing the AGM, Shah has promised to carry forward the development of sport in this part of the world. ”We remain committed to ensuring the all-round development of cricket in the region, especially carrying forward the pioneering work in women’s cricket and the multiple grassroots tournaments the ACC conducts in the region around the year,” Shah said.

Earlier, Shah had taken over the reins of the ACC in January 2021 from BCB president Nazmul Hassan. The BCCI secretary thus also became the youngest to be re-elected. He also accepted to be President of ACC till 2024 and is committed to growing the sport in this region. “I humbly accept this honor and I am committed to working hard with a view to organize, develop and promote our beloved sport of cricket in the region, aiding the ACC to steadily grow in stature,” he added.
