Perez declared his ‘main target’ this year is to win the F1 Drivers’ title. He said, “I think I’m just going to get stronger now. I’m working for it every day. So hopefully this year I can have another gear.”

“I know what I have done to get to this point, what my family has done, and we’re proud. But I’m not the type of guy to run around screaming about it, that’s just boring. Everyone has their own story. Their own life, and at the end of the day, we’re here because we want to be here. To race, to compete, to deliver. I’ve had a fantastic career and I still want to achieve a lot more in this sport.”
The Mexican driver achieved five podium finishes last year. It also included winning the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in his maiden season for Red Bull. Perez was unable to finish the last two races in Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi. But, finished fourth or higher in all the five races before Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi. Thus, he developed a consistent form of run for the Milton-Keynes team.

Sergio finished fourth last year in the Driver’s standings. He scored 190 points and was 205.5 points behind his teammate Max Verstappen. But, this year Perez will take the fight to Verstappen and be that extra rival for the title this time around.

Formula 1: Christian Horner on Sergio Perez and the upcoming Bahrain GP
Red Bull’s team principal, Christian Horner believes Sergio Perez will play an important role in any success of the team. Horner said, “Checo finally finds his level at the right time. He is very tough, he never gives up. Sergio is a great team player. That’s what we need in this fight.”
Christian Horner also warned everybody that his team is ready for the Bahrain Grand Prix. They have already made progress as compared to the performances they showed in the two Pre-season Testings.
