For the first time in IPL’s history, Suresh Raina was not picked by any franchise in the auction. He was snubbed by Chennai Super Kings, which he called home for 12 seasons. But as per a report in Dainik Jagaran, Suresh Raina is set for a comeback in the IPL, albeit in a new avatar.

Star Sports has apparently roped in the former India batsman for Hindi commentary. He will be seen in action in the commentary box alongside Ravi Shastri, who will make a comeback following his 7-year coaching stint with Team India.
After CSK snub, Suresh Raina was linked to a move to Gujarat Titans but the franchise officials denied making any offers for him post-auction. He led Gujarat Lions when CSK was suspended for two years. Sunil Gavaskar will also be seen doing Hindi commentary this time.

However, former England captain Nasser Hussain will not be seen commentating during IPL. But the likes of Kevin Pietersen, Mark Nicholas, Ian Bishop, Danny Morrison, Simon Doull, Michael Slater are expected to return for IPL 2022 Global Feed. Other than them, the IPL 2021 commentary team is expected to remain same as IPL 2021.
Furthermore, Ajit Agarkar and Asish Nehra will also not be part of the commentary team having joined Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Giants as assistant coach and head coach, respectively. Meanwhile, Boria Majumder may not be part of the Bengali commentary team after a fallout with the BCCI following the Wriddhiman Saha episode.
