WWE Wrestlemania 38: What were the original plans for Big E- Former WWE Champion Big E has a broken neck and will be missing Wrestlemania 38 next month. Big E suffered a devastating injury last week on Friday Night Smackdown when he landed badly on his head after Ridge Holland slammed him on the floor with an overhead suplex. This injury will keep him out of the next month’s Wrestlemania, but originally WWE had him in their plans for the Show of Shows.

WWE Wrestlemania 38: Big E was in WWE’s Wrestlemania 38 plans

The former WWE Champion Big E was all set to team up with his New Day mates Kofi Kingston & King Woods to take on the trio of Sheamus, Ridge Holland, and Butch (Pete Dunne).

Big E was stretchered after suffering a neck injury

King Woods was also out of action due to a leg injury, but he returned to in-ring action last week at a WWE Live Event. Woods is back in action, but it is unfortunate that the New Day won’t be together at Wrestlemania 38 with Big E injured.

Wrestlemania 38: Big E won’t be undergoing surgery

Big E himself has provided a new update on his injury. The former WWE Champion said that his C1 and C6 vertebrae have been fractured but there’s no damage to his spinal cord and he won’t be needing surgery. Here’s a glimpse of what he said,

“So I got some really good news, all things considered. The C1 and C6 are indeed fracture, no displacement though, which is a very good thing. I don’t have any damage to my spinal cord, no ligament damage, and no surgery, for which I’m very thankful for it. A pro tip, if you’re going to break your neck, do it in Birmingham. They’ve been great. Everyone here has been great. But for real it’s meant a ton to me that so many of you have been so kind and reached out and stopped in to see me. I feel like I sound like a broken record, but I am very grateful and I’ll be alright.”
