Sri Lanka Central Contract: Wanindu Hasaranga is currently the hottest property in Sri Lanka. The star spinner will earn a $100,000 base salary from Sri Lanka Cricket. However, white-ball captain Dasun Shanaka has no such luck as he was retained in the B1 category worth $65,000. Wanindu Hasaranga will share the A1 category with Dushmantha Chameera, Test captain Dimuth Karunaratne besides Dhananjaya de Silva. Hasaranga has been in form of his life. He was briefly the No 1 T20I spinner before being overtaken by others.

However, Dasun Shanaka who has hit his top form with important knocks including a 38-ball 74 against India, has been left out of the A1 contract. The limited-overs captain did not find a place even in A2 category worth $80,000.
As per Sunday Times Sri Lanka, 19 players are in Sri Lanka Cricket’s contract list after Suranga Lakmal decided to hang his boots after the 2nd Test against India. Angelo Mathews and Kusal Perera however have been demoted to B1 category from A2.

The terrible trio who were suspended by SLC for bio-bubble breach in England — Niroshan Dickwella, Danushka Gunathilake, Kusal Mendis — have all been demoted to C2 category. Dickwella had a massive pay cut as he was demoted from A1 ($100,000) to the lowest C2 category worth $35,000. Bhanuka Rajapaksha, who is struggling with his fitness, has been retained only in the domestic category.
