ISL Season 8: The current Indian Super League have not yet ended but teams have already started making moves for players to bolster their roster for the upcoming season. So two moves that have taken the limelight are Jamshedpur FC centre back Narender Gahlot’s move to Odisha FC as Gaurav Bora joins NorthEast United ahead of the next ISL season. Odisha FC invited a lot of money this season but they did not get the desired results. The Kalinga Warriors finished in the seventh position, 11 points behind the playoffs spots. While their attack looked really good with Javi Hernandez, Jerry Mawihmingthanga, Aridai Cabrera and others, their defence did not live up to the expectation.
Last night was tough, but we take our learning from the game and move ahead with positive spirit! Looking forward to the next one🤝

They had Hector Ramirez and Victor Mongil at th back but somehow they kept leaking goals. So getting someone like Narender Gahlot from Jamshedpur FC will be great for them next season. They can now invest time on one of India’s most talented centre backs and play an extra foreigner in midfield or attack.
Narender Gahlot started his career for the AIFF developmental side Indian Arrows. He was very consistent in the I-League and hence Jamshedpur FC roped him in. He has featured in 35 matches for the Men of Steel but never really cemented his place in the starting eleven. He is known for his exceptional tackling skills and that’s why he is one of the most talented defenders in the country. It is known that Narender has joined Odisha FC on a multi year deal.
On the other hand, Odisha FC defender Gaurav Bora is moving on and joining NorthEast United. The youngster has been hot and cold for the Kalinga Warriors this season but will look to change hat narrative at NorthEast United.
The Highlanders had a season to forget as they finished second from bottom and conceded 43 goals (same as Odisha FC) which is the highest number of goals conceded in the league phase. So the Highlanders will hope that Bora can regain the form that saw him guide Chennai City FC to the I-League title. Despite joining ISL, it still remains as Bora’s best season in his career as he scored the decisive goal to help the club lift their maiden I-League title.
Bora who started as a midfielder back in Pune FC plied his trade for FC Pune City and then joined Chennai City FC and won the I-League title under the tutelage of Akbar Nawas. He then joined Odisha FC and have not had a great stint. But he would like to change that narrative and will look to help NorthEast United to solve their defensive woes. He has joined NorthEast United for more game time and hopefully he flourish in new colours.
