Warne’s son Jackson was among those on hand to oversee the arrival of the plane. The former cricketer’s mother Brigitte was also there, holding a single white rose.
According to reports in Australian media, Brigitte broke down very badly seeing Warne’s coffin.
Jackson Warne thanked people for their support in an Instagram post on Thursday night.
“Thank you everyone for the overwhelming amount of support, messages and love,” he wrote.

Shane Warne’s coffin arrived in Australia a week after the Australian cricket legend’s shocking death in Thailand.
The 52-year-old’s body arrived in his home nation on Thursday before making its way home to his family.
Warne’s coffin was draped in an Australian flag before being transported into a private jet with Victorian premier Daniel Andrews announcing a state funeral for the departed cricket legend.

It is expected that Warne’s family will hold a private memorial service for the 52-year-old this week, with statewide mourning set for March 30 at the MCG. Andrews has previously mentioned that public service would give the state and the citizens an opportunity to pay tribute to the spin wizard.
“It will be an opportunity for Victorians to pay tribute to his contribution to his sport, to our state and the country,” he said.

“I’ve just informed the Warne family that the government will rename the Great Southern Stand at the MCG.”
Shane Warne Funeral to be LIVE Streamed? The Daily Telegraph and Channel Nine both reported that a proposal has been made for the memorial service to be live-streamed.
The proposal is being made so that fans all over the country can also pay respect to the champion leg-spinner.
According to networks, no decision as yet has been made on the proposal.
