National Projects Construction Corporation will build an international standard football stadium at Sri Nagar’s Bakshi Stadium. The construction for the ₹ 50 crore project is underway.
The State is expected to have its fully operation football facility next year. The stadium will be used to hosts the global football premier events.
However, the prime aim of constructing the modern-day football arena is to provide underprivileged footballers from the State international level football facilities, which will also include trainers.
“The stadium is being constructed according to the FIFA norms. We have kept six amenity blocks which will have food courts and toilets. We are building a new pavilion to increase the space. This will include a commentary box, VVIP box and dressing halls. The ground will get a synthetic turf and there will be four floodlights,” Assistant Project Manager Arshid Hussian has said.
The project plans include 18,000 spectator seats with a 500-seat amenity block for VIPs. The access roads and other facilities will also be upgraded.
