Formula 1: Alfa Romeo team has announced their new managing director: Alessandro Alunni Bravi has been named the new managing director of the Sauber group. Sauber is the owner of the Alfa Romeo Formula 1 team. Bravi has been involved with the team as its general counsel and board member since 2017. Follow Formula 1 Live Updates on InsideSport.IN.
Alessandro Bravi said, “It’s an honour to take on the challenge of being the managing director of a company with the successful history that Sauber has. I am also aware of the responsibility that this position brings towards more than 500 people employed by Sauber. A commitment I will meet with hard work, passion, and dedication.”

The Italian is well known in the F1 paddock as the former manager of McLaren driver Stoffel Vandoorne. Stoffel is currently racing for Mercedes in Formula E. Bravi has also worked with the current Alfa Romeo driver Robert Kubica.
However, he previously operated alongside Nicolas Todt at All Road Management. They have also produced some fantastic drivers which include Felipe Massa, Charles Leclerc, and Pastor Maldonado.
Alessandro has also worked with Vasseur as the legal advisor to ART F2 and F3 operations since 2010. Sauber says that Bravi will focus “On marketing, communications, sales, legal, IT, and finance.”

Alfa Romeo’s team principal Frederic Vasseur said, “Alessandro has been an integral part of the growth of our company. On and off the track, in the last few years. I am excited about the contribution he will make in his new position.”

The Swiss company is keen to maintain the Sauber brand as a separate entity alongside the Alfa Romeo F1 team. It is because they want to emphasize on engineering and technology business. As their main highlight is their wind tunnel facility.
Last year the organization was nearly sold to Michael Andretti. But, the main shareholder Finn Rausing was unwilling to let it go. Thus, he opted to remain in charge.
