Resuming the day at 269/2 after the first session was completely washed out due to wet outfield, Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne continued to build on their overnight partnership. Labuschagne looked good and was unfortunate to miss out on a century as he was dismissed for 90 by Shaheen Afridi. He chased a widish delivery, only to get the edge that was taken cleanly by a diving Abdullah Shafique at first slip.

Pakistan then took another wicket as Travis Head was dismissed for 8 by Nauman Ali. Cameron Green then joined Smith and the pair has built an unbeaten 38-run stand to end the session.remained unbeaten on 61 as Australia score 364/4 by tea. The duo continued to stitch a healthy partnership as the brought up an 81 run stand.
Steve Smith, who scored a brilliant half-century was dismissed for 78 after attempting a sweep that took the edge and Mohammad Rizwan, the wicket-keeper completed the catch. Nauman Ali was the one who also dismissed Cameron Green for 48. Green and Smith shared a 81-run partnership and was looking dangerous. Nauman Ali’s two wickets helped Pakistan come back into the game. With the first innings yet to get over after the completion of Day 4, the game heads towards an inevitable draw.
