Karnataka comprehensively defeated Puducherry on the first session of Day 4 and took an uncatchable lead in the points table. A fifer from Shreyas Gopal in the second innings bundled Puducherry after they were inflicted a follow-on. Karnatak won the game by an innings and 20 runs.
Jharkhand skipper Saurabh Tiwary and Kumar Kushagra comfortably scored the remaining 110 runs that were required at the end of Day 3 to seal a comfortable victory for Jharkhand. Having beaten Tamil Nadu by 2 wickets, Jharkhand sits comfortably at the top of the points table by 12 points.

Madhya Pradesh opener Yash Dubey scored a sensational 289 run stint as Madhya Pradesh mounted a mammoth total of 585 runs against Kerala. Jalaj Saxena scalped 6 wickets for Kerala. In reply Ponnam Rahul and Rohan Kunnummal, the openers of Kerala played well with Rahul remaining not out on 82 while Rohan Kunnummal departed on 75 as Kerala trails by 387 runs.
Orissa is on the brink of losing their match as Mumbai registered a huge first innings score of 532-9 in reply to Orissa’s 284-10. Currently, Orissa experienced a batting order collapse as they lost 5 wickets in quick succession. With a score of 84/5, Orissa now trails 164 runs.

The Format of Ranji Trophy 2022: The 2021-22 Ranji Trophy will be held in two phases, with the IPL in between. The first phase, which consists of league matches and one
pre-quarterfinal, starts on February 17 and ends on March 15.
- A total of 38 teams will be participating
- Teams have been divided into nine groups, 8 Elite and 1 Plate.
- The Elite groups have four teams each, the Plate group has six sides in it.
- A total of 57 matches will be played in the league phase, as each team plays three matches.
- While the Elite teams face all other sides in their group once, the Plate teams will play only against three sides in their group.
- The league phase will be followed by the pre-quarterfinal, and the knockouts: the quarterfinals, the semi-finals and the final. That’s a total of 65 matches.

Where will the Ranji matches be played? The Elite matches will all be held across eight states, all neutral to the teams in action. Rajkot, Cuttack, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Thiruvananthapuram, Thumba, Delhi, Rohtak, Gurugram, Sultanpur, and Guwahati will be the cities where matches will be played. All the Plate matches will be conducted in Kolkata. The venue for the pre-quarter-final and the knockouts will be decided later.
