Loyd, an American bodybuilder based in Florida, collapsed at his home in Springhill on Friday, 25th February. It has been reported that he fell unconscious in his kitchen after returning from a gym session.

The 29-year-old was rushed to a hospital, where he was declared dead as efforts of resuscitating him by the administration of CPR produced no response. Though there is no official confirmation on the cause of death, it is being suspected that the bodybuilder suffered a cardiac arrest.

Notably, Loyd used steroids frequently and was also vocal about his cycles. He became famous for a fantastic transformation, but the daily usage of steroids had an adverse effect on his kidney, resulting in stage 5 kidney failure.
Explaining his condition previously via Facebook, the bodybuilder wrote “Many of my followers are keep on asking me about my kidney failures so I thought to take hare and answer you all via post. Since I was battling with the diagnosis of Kidney first stage failure in the month of October 2020, doctors suggested I be on dialysis but now I’m living my life well and not even in dialysis as I’m recovering by intaking healthy food. This is a difficult journey but not impossible.”
According to reports, Loyd was undergoing dialysis prior to his death. He was on a cycle of Adipotide peptide, a steroid that is used by bodybuilder for fat reduction. He rose to fame after winning the 2013 NPC Contra Costa at the tender age of 21, and happens to be the first competitive bodybuilder to openly reveal his steroid cycle. He is survived by his wife Ariella Palumbo and a child.
