Gaikwad had earlier been ruled out of the Sri Lanka T20I series owing to discomfort in the wrist. An MRI scan was later conducted followed by a specialist consultation. Ruturaj will now head to the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru for further management of his injury. Gaikwad’s status will be known once the specialist finds the root cause of the matter.
