England next coach: Shane Warne keen to coach England team – Former Australia leg spinner Shane Warne has shown interest to be next head coach of England. The 52-year-old feels he will do a pretty good job and said there is a lot of depth in the England team. The England Cricket Board (ECB) is yet to name a permanent successor to Chris Silverwood, who was earlier removed from the post following a 4-0 Ashes drubbing. Speaking on the Sky Sports Podcast, Warne said he is ready to take the opportunity if ECB offered him.

England next coach: Shane Warne interested in the role“I’d like to do it, it’s a great time to be England coach,” he said. “I think I’d do a pretty good job, there’s a lot to work with. There are so many good players in England and a lot of depth, but you’ve got to get some of the basics right. You can’t bowl no-balls and drop so many catches, but you’ve got the players, they’re just not performing.”

- Brings the best out of the players by backing them to the core, for example, Ravindra Jadeja, Watson
- Great man-manager like Ravi Shastri was for India

Meanwhile, Australia and England have both named interim coaches for time being. Andrew McDonald is in charge of Australia Paul Collingwood will oversee things for England for a brief while.

Alec Stewart and Justin Langer, are the top two contenders to be the next England head coach. Langer has a sound background in coaching and till recently was the coach of Australia’s men’s team. He was also instrumental in helping the team win in the T20 World Cup and the Ashes.
On the other hand, Stewart has an excellent record as County coach of Surrey. He is also a great man-manager and knows players in and out.
