Pro Kabaddi PKL 8: The eighth edition of the Pro Kabaddi League has successfuly come to an end with Dabang Delhi clinching their maiden title. The league saw 64 days of intense action between the 12 teams where several players stepped up and created numerous records personally as well as for their teams. In Kabaddi, raiders play a very crucial role and this season saw several raiders doing exceptional job, helping their team immensely. Pawan SehrawatPawan Sehrawat – Bengaluru Bulls [304 POINTS]
Pawan Sehrawat, the ‘High-Flyer’ is flying high in the raiders leaderboard by racking up the maximum raid points in the league. He finished the season by scoring 304 raid points in 24 matches and is the only raider to score more than 300 points this year. The experienced campaigner also racked up 27 raid points in a single match against Dabang Delhi K.C recently, which is the maximum raid points scored by a raider in a single season. Under Sehrawat, Bengaluru Bulls had a good run in the tournament, by reaching the semi-finals. He was however a lone warrior for the team as for most part of the season, there were no secondary raiders to support him. Chandran Ranjith and Bharath bloomed very late in the tournament and that was one of the reasons for the team not being able to reach the summit clash.
Arjun DeshwalArjun Deshwal – Jaipur Pink Panthers [267 POINTS]
Raider Arjun Deshwal with 267 raid points in 22 matches so far this season has caught everyone’s attention and is quickly becoming one of the brightest prospects for Indian Kabaddi. The raider, playing his third season has emerged as the main man for the Jaipur Pink Panthers and initially he was doing a one-man show for his team. But soon Deepak Hooda stepped up his performance and and the duo’s performance lifted the spirits of the men in pink. They came very close to sealing a playoff spot. But in the end they missed it as they finished eighth at the points table.
Maninder SinghManinder Singh – Bengal Warriors [262 POINTS]
Maninder Singh showcased a terrific one-man show for Bengal Warriors this season. The defending champions were carried entirely by the skipper who has put up a terrific raiding display whenever he steps onto the mat despite the lack of support from other raiders. With no support from other raiders, the team eventually lost out on a spot in the playoffs. Maninder has accumulated 264 raid points in 22 matches and is third on the list of raiders with maximum raid points.
Naveen KumarNaveen Kumar – Dabang Delhi [194 POINTS]
Playing just his third season of the marquee league, Naveen has already emerged as a talismanic raider with his brilliant performances. This year, he became the first player to reach 100-raid points and secured seven consecutive super 10s in as many games. Naveen brings with him a fresh energy and with quick feet movement, he has become someone who is very difficult to tackle. However, he suffered an injury mid-way through the season and missed few games that provided a setback to Delhi. He has however returned back to form. In the semi-final he has scored 14 raid points and was instrumental in taking his team to the final.

Surender Gill – UP Yoddha [189 POINTS]
Surender Gill emerged as the best raidr of UP Yoddha, a team that had Record-Breaker Pardeep Narwal in its ranks. Pardeep Narwal who was picked for a whopping 1.65 crores by UP Yoddha this year, suffered an injury at the start of the tournament and didn’t play to his potential. However, Surender Gill filled in Pardeep’s shoes as he was the team’s best raider by picking up 189 raid points in 23 games. His performance was instrumental in helping teh team reach the semi-final.
