The England opening batter was in great form before contracting Covid and this news has come as a massive boost to the Islamabad United side, who are grappling with fitness issues. Interestingly, Hales had withdrawn from the PSL citing personal reasons. However, later it was reported in Geo News that the batter had pulled out due to bio-bubble fatigue.

Hales’s return to the side for the crucial eliminator match will be pivotal for United as it is a do-or-die fixture. The winner of the match will play Lahore Qalandars in Qualifier two. However, Alex Hales will have to follow some COVID-19 protocols. He first has to clear the mandatory PCR test.

Meanwhile, United skipper Shadab khan has recovered from the groin injury. There is no official announcement that has been made yet, but sources claim he is fit and will play against Zalmi. United though will not have the services of Colin Munro and Zeehan Zamer.
