“He is such a natural and easy leader. I watched him closely leading the Mumbai Indians and nothing seems to faze him. He goes about his work incredibly well, he has had experience leading teams as well, captaining a franchise like Mumbai in high-pressure situations. There is always a high expectation from Mumbai in the IPL,” said Watson, on ICC Review.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had earlier announced Rohit Sharma as the team Test captain. The right-hand batter became the 35th player from India to be named as the captain in the longest format of the game. The 34-year-old will begin his first assignment against Sri Lanka.
Shane Watson effusive in praise of Virat Kohli
The cricketer-turned-expert also showered praise on Virat Kohli. The right-hand batter had stepped down from the post of Test captaincy after the conclusion of the South Africa series. As a leader, Kohli was instrumental in taking India to the number one rankings in Test cricket. Watson, who has played under Kohli’s leadership in RCB said he is superhuman and knows to push the players around to give their best.
