IPL 2022 Auction: de Kock to open for LSG with KL Rahul –  What happened to be one of the surprise buys of the IPL 2022 Auction, de Kock who is currently in the form of his life was sold at a surprisingly low price of 6.75 crores. It has now been confirmed by the owners of the Lucknow franchise that de Kock will be opening the batting order with skipper KL Rahul. De Kock who is an exceptional keeper will be the backup and the second keeper of the squad.

The batting lineup of Lucknow Super Giants looks deadly and will surely threaten the opponents with the opening pair of Rahul and de Kock. Lucknow is now forming a brilliant team after buying de Kock, Manish Pandey for 4.5 cr, star all-rounder Jason Holder for Cr, and Deepak Hooda for a price of 5.75 Cr. LSG now has a remaining purse of 33.15 Crores with which they need to complete their entire roster.

South Africa batter Faf du Plessis was acquired by Royal Challengers Bangalore for Rs 7 crore while his compatriot Quinton de Kock was bought by Lucknow Super Giants for Rs 6.75 crore in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2022 Mega Auction here in Bengaluru on Saturday.

A bidding war for Faf du Plessis took place between Royal Challengers Banglore (RCB), Chennai Super Kings (CSK), and Delhi Capitals. For Quinton de Kock Lucknow Super Giants, Chennai Super Kings, and Mumbai Indians engaged in the bidding war.

IPL 2022 Auction: de Kock to open for LSG with KL Rahul –  Earlier in the auction, India opening batter Shikhar Dhawan was acquired by Punjab Kings for Rs 8.25 crore. Spinner Ravichandran Ashwin was bought by Rajasthan Royals for Rs 5 crore. While Kagiso Rabada was sold to Punjab Kings for 9.25 crore. India batter Shreyas Iyer was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for Rs 12.25 crore and Mohammed Shami went to Gujarat Titans.

INR 2 Crore Bracket: Some of the big international names who have made themselves available are Pat Cummins (Australia, base price Rs 2 crore), David Warner (Australia, Rs 2 crore), Steve Smith (Australia, Rs 2 crore), Quinton de Kock (South Africa, Rs 2 crore), Faf du Plessis (South Africa, Rs 2 crore) and Mark Wood (England, Rs 2 crore), Kagiso Rabada (Rs 2 crore), Dwayne Bravo (Rs 2 crore)
