IND beat WI, 3rd ODI: Rohit Sharma guides Team India to 3-0: Team India defeated West Indies by 96 runs to register a whitewash for the first time against visitors at home. The bowling department was once again clinical as they bowled out WI for just 169 runs in 37.1 overs. Mohd Siraj & Prasidh Krishna took 3 wickets each while Kuldeep Yadav and Deepak Chahar shared a couple of wickets each. Apart from Odean Smith’s quickfire 36, the entire batting order famed against Team India.
Earlier, WI bowled out India for 265 runs in the allotted 50 overs. Jason Holder took 4 wickets while Alzarri Joseph and Hayden Walsh took a couple of wickets each. Rishabh Pant (56) and Shreyas Iyer (80) smashed the fifties to keep India on track of 3-0 in the 3rd ODI. The duo rescued India from 42/3. Later, Deepak Chahar played a cameo of 38 runs while Washington Sundar added 33 runs to the scorecard.
The two teams will now meet each other in the T20I series which is set to be held at Eden Garden Stadium, Kolkata from February 16.

- Hosts India head into the final match of the series after having ticked almost all the boxes in the first two games, which they won comfortably.
- Senior opener Dhawan was among the four players, including a reserve bowler, who had tested positive for COVID-19 just four days ahead of the start of the ODI leg.
- But now that the southpaw is back, the Indian team could be forced to make few changes to its winning combination.

After his side’s 44-run win in the second game on Wednesday, India skipper Rohit Sharma made it clear that Dhawan will be back for the last match of the ODI series. “We will get Shikhar back for next game, and he needs some game time. It is not always the results. We wanted to try it one game,” Rohit had said.

Skipper Rohit failed in the last game but it is common knowledge that he can take on any attack on his day, and so is the case with Dhawan.
