Despite a slow start Bengaluru FC have turned the tables in recent times and a prime reason for their resurgence has to be Naorem Roshan Singh’s exceptional form. The 23-year-old has been very busy on the left flank as his deliveries have already impressed Indian football fans.

Roshan has a tremendous left foot and his crosses from the left flank have been a big weapon for the Blues. Apart from his crosses, he has been superb in dead ball situations. His ambidextrous nature allows him to create variations with either foot and keeps the opposition defenders guessing.

The left-back was picked for the award by 11 out of the 13 experts proving how dominant his performances have been in the last month.

Hyderabad FC left-back Akash Mishra was also in the race to win the award he delivered some sublime performances for the Nizams. Mishra was the choice of the two experts.

Roshan is the highest Indian assist provider in the ISL this season. He has already notched up five assists and have also scored a winning goal from a freekick against Kerala Blasters. Bengaluru FC head coach Marco Pezzaiouli tried different players in fullback positions but did not get much joy.

But when he turned to Roshan, the Manipuri youngster did not disappoint him. His quick feet, crafty footwork and exceptional range in passing and taking setpieces have made him one of the finds of the season.

The Blues are going through a purple patch and are unbeaten in eight matches and a lot of credit has to go to Roshan Singh and also Marco Pezzaiouli for his farsightedness. Bengaluru FC did not have the best of starts this season but their season has seen a turnaround in the month of January as they have recorded three wins and two draws in the month which has put them right into playoffs contention.
