Kieron Pollard led team will leave for India on Tuesday but things back home are not too good for the captain & coach Phil Simmons. IND vs WI LIVE updates: Skerrit also told media in Caribbean that some people around the West Indies cricket are floating rumors. He was mighty pleased with the team’s effort to beat England & is hoping the good work should continue in India.

“I have no reason to believe there will be any change in coach and captain any time soon. But remember the captaincy is evaluated as is the coach. If the system says these guys are not right people, we will deal with it. At the moment I don’t see anything coming at me that says these guys must go. Caribbean people like to take people down. Team played well in England & should also do well in India” he told a local TV station.

  • West Indies will arrive in India on February 2 for 3-match ODI & T20I series starting Feb 6.
  • Kieron Pollard & Phil Simmons will be on a mission to accomplish ODI series against India. They have not won the ODI series in India since 2002/03.
  • WI are under fire after losing the ODI series 1-2 against Ireland.
  • Pollard & Co had earlier crashed out in group stage in T20 World Cup despite being defending champions with two T20 WC trophies.

However, Skerritt has backed the captain & coach duo to continue after the recent 3-2 T20I series victory against England.

“CWI is aware that voice notes were circulated on social media, and in sections of the regional broadcast media, suggesting that there is a rift within the West Indies Senior Men’s team. Contrary to the unsubstantiated statements, containing unfounded and mischievous allegations, CWI is satisfied that there is no discord between the Team Captain and any member of the West Indies team,” the Cricket West Indies release read.“I view this as a malicious attack on the credibility of the West Indies Captain, designed to sow division within our team that has just recorded three very impressive T20I performances against very strong opponents (England). This clear attempt by well-known mischief makers to discredit the captain should not be tolerated or encouraged (sic),” he added.Rift in West Indies cricket: Kieron Pollard and Phil Simmons under fire, confirms CWIWI Tour of India: Pollard, Cricket West Indies & Players Association meeting over ‘RIFT in the TEAM’ allegations now just before the team’s FLIGHT to IndiaIND vs WI Series: Kieron Pollard says, ‘Playing against Rohit Sharma led team will be special’
