IND vs WI LIVE: 4 players in the fray to make their ODI debut – The upcoming ODI series against West Indies at home is a golden opportunity for a number of players. After the South Africa disaster, Team India will go ahead and experiment with their combinations and the likes of Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ravi Bishnoi, Avesh Khan and Deepak Hooda could be in fray for their ODI debuts. Follow India vs West Indies LIVE score updates on InsideSport.IN

A number of big players like Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Shami have been rested while Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been snubbed from ODIs. R Jadeja is yet to recover from injury paving way for Deepak Hooda as the second allrounder option after Shardul Thakur. KL Rahul will also miss the first ODI as he is on an extended break. Hence, for the four players, the three-match series could be a big opportunity.

Ruturaj Gaikwad: After making his T20 debut, IPL & Vijay Hazare Trophy sensation is all geared up for ODI debut. Gaikwad has been picked and benched for the last two series. But the IPL Orange Cap holder could finally make his debut as head coach Rahul Dravid will be eager to experiment at home and get the combinations right.

After IPL, he continued his red-hot form and smashed 4 centuries in the 50-over domestic tournament VHT. His exceptional performances have created pressure on selectors to include him in playing XI. After failing to make cut in South Africa ODIs, Gaikwad would not want to miss out on the West Indies ODI series at home.

Ravi Bishnoi: A surprise pick in both formats of the game, Ravi Bishnoi is likely to make his India debut. Selectors and the team management are interested in using wrist-spin options once again and that could pave the way for Ravi Bishnoi.

The youngster had a decent IPL season with Punjab Kings and his consistent performance in IPL paved way for his Ahmedabad retention ahead of IPL 2022 mega auction. After managing 12 wickets in each season for last two years, Bishnoi will be hoping to make his debut against West Indies. He can play the role of the third spinner with wrist spinners Yuzvendra Chahal & Kuldeep Yadav in the mix.

Avesh Khan: After warming the bench in Sri Lanka, England and New Zealand series, IPL 2021’s second-highest wicket-taker Avesh Khan will be keen for ODI cap. He had impressed with his exceptional performance for Delhi Capitals to help them lead the points table. But with stiff competition from senior pros like Jasprit Bumrah, he missed out. This time with no Bumrah, Mohd Shami and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Avesh Khan is expected to make his ODI debut. He will be looking to make an impact if given an opportunity ahead of possible big lottery in IPL 2022 mega auction.

Deepak Hooda: Another surprise selection, former Punjab Kings allrounder Deepak Hooda will look to make of the opportunity in India vs West Indies ODIs. He has been called up twice for India’s T20 assignments but remained unused in both 2017 and 2018. This time, he could be an option.

He performed decently well in the Vijay Hazare Trophy and has decent number in t20s to justify his call. He has scored 2172 runs in 141 T20s with a century and 13 fifties. The 26-year-old plays at an impressive strike rate of 138 in the shortest format.
