The Multan Sultans will be led by Pakistan wicket-keeper batsman Mohammad Rizwan who has been in terrific form over the last year in the shortest format of the game. Having won the title last year the team will look to put up another good show this year.
Captain Rizwan, who has scored over 2000 runs in T20s last year is expected to replicate his fine form with the bat in the tournament. Apart from Rizwan, the Sultans boast of a good batting line-up with Rilee Rossouw, Johnson Charles, Singapore’s Tim David, among the foreigners. Pakistan’s Sohaib Maqsood, who was the league’s third-highest run-getter last year should once again perform well with the bat.
The stage is set for the seventh edition of HBL Pakistan Super League to commence on Thursday.

The right-arm pacer attracted eyeballs last season with the bucket of variations and wicket-taking ability. He now returns to the league as a capped player and will once again be the player to watch out for. With leg-spinner Imrah Tahir, left-arm seamers David Willey, Dominic Drakes and Rumman Raees, Multan Sultans enter the tournament as favourites.

For Karachi Kings, Babar Azam is the main man. In the last 10 matches for Karachi Kings, the skipper has scored 530 runs at a striking average of 75 and a strike rate of 133. Other than Babar, the team also has the likes of opener Sharjeel Khan.
Mohammad Ilyas has been the best bowler for Karachi Kings and has picked up 8 wickets from his last 5 matches. The team also has the likes of left-arm spinner Imad Wasim. At the draft this year they have picked England all-rounder Lewis Gregory and already have Afghanistan’s Mohammad Nabi in their ranks.
With Pakistan’s two best batters Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam facing off each other, the match promises to be a close contest. The defending champions slightly edge Karachi Kings in terms of experience in both departments. Rizwan and Babar’s form will once again be crucial to both the teams.
