It finished 0-0 in what could be a big point for the visitors. They certainly rode their luck at times, as Saka and Odegaard went close in the first half. The hosts continued to press in the second half and could’ve taken the lead through set pieces, firstly through an Odegaard free-kick that landed on top of Pope’s net and then through a clever corner routine that led to Pope making a great save to deny Smith-Rowe as the youngster shot from the edge of the box.
The best chance of the contest fell to Lacazette, however he could only put his shot from a Smith-Rowe cross wide. Dyche’s men held on and could’ve won it themselves late on through a McNeil shot, however it skimmed just over and the game finishes goalless.

They remain bottom but are now four points off 17th-placed Norwich City, but with four games in hand on the Canaries. They host Watford next in what is another massive game at the bottom. Despite the disappointing result, Arsenal move up a place to sixth above rivals Tottenham. They will travel to Wolves in their next match as they look to get back on track.

Arsenal missed out on the chance to move into the top four after being held to a goalless draw by a battling Burnley side. The Gunners had two golden opportunities to go ahead in the 19th minute with Nick Pope denying Martin Ødegaard with a superb stop first before Ben Mee reacted first to block Alexandre Lacazette’s follow-up.
Bukayo Saka then went close in first-half stoppage time, curling a shot just wide after the hosts had broken on the counter-attack.

Mikel Arteta will have been left wondering how his side didn’t take the lead in the second half when Emile Smith Rowe teed up Lacazette in the area but the Frenchman put his shot wide with the whole goal to aim at. But Sean Dyche’s side held out to move within four points of safety at the bottom of the table.

Liverpool survived a second-half onslaught from Crystal Palace to win and close the gap on league leaders Manchester City to nine points. Virgil van Dijk gave them the lead in the eighth minute, losing his marker before powering a header home from Andrew Robertson’s corner.
It should’ve been 2-0 moments later when Andrew Robertson’s cross found Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain at the back post but his shot hit the side-netting. Oxlade-Chamberlain made no mistake the next time Robertson picked him out in the same position in the 32nd minute, this time chesting the ball down before smashing a left footed shot past Guaita.

Palace had their chances to get back into the game towards the end of the first half with Alisson having to deny Michael Olise from close range before Jean-Philippe Mateta rounded the Brazilian but saw his shot deflect just wide. Conor Gallagher almost halved the deficit at the start of the second period, glancing a header from Olise’s cross just wide from inside the six-yard box.
Patrick Vieira’s side finally got their reward in the 55th minute, with Jeffrey Schlupp’s pass splitting the Liverpool defence in half and setting Mateta through who selflessly laid it off for Odsonne Édouard to roll into the empty net.

Olise then nearly caught Alisson out with a lob but the goalkeeper managed to make it back to palm the ball wide, before referee Kevin Friend awarded the referee a controversial penalty after a lengthy VAR check. Guaita was penalised for bringing down Diogo Jota in the box which allowed Fabinho the chance to slot a spot-kick away to seal the three points.
