According to the original fixture, the match number 67 of the PKL season 8 was supposed to take place between three-time champions Patna Pirates and Season 6 winner Bengaluru Bulls. But later yesterday, Pro Kabaddi League took to its official Twitter account to announce the change in the fixture.
The post read ‘Mashal Sports, the organisers of the Pro Kabaddi League, along with the management of Patna Pirates have decided to reschedule their match no 67 against Bengaluru Bulls. Though the organisers have not given any official reason for the change in this fixture, with the league being played during Covid-19 times, the possibility of a Covid outbreak inside the bio-bubble can not be denied.
During the last two matches, the team’s prolific raider Monu Goyat was not named in the starting seven and in the last game against Delhi, Sunil Kumar too failed to find a place. The absence of these key players raises the suspicion of a possible Covid outbreak even more.
The match between Bengaluru Bulls and Bengal Warriors is scheduled to take place at 8.30 pm. While earlier in the evening, Tamil Thalaivas take on Gujarat Giants at 7.30 pm.
