Pro Kabaddi PKL 8: Tamil Thalaivas skipper Surjeet Singh pulls off a stunning Solo Super Tackle against Jaipur Pink PanthersBoth the Tamil Thalaivas and the Jaipur Pink Panthers are having a decent tournament and yesterday’s game was a must-win for both the teams to move into the top-half of the points table. Both the teams had an intense battle on the mat and in the end, points couldn’t separate the teams as they played out a tie.
It was a game that the Thalaivas could have won as they were leading until the last moment. Though they will be slightly disappointed with the result, Captain Surjeet Singh’s tremendous effort will be something that will be remembered for long.

It all happened just four minutes before the end of the first-half where the Pink Panthers were leading the game 10-8. Thalaivas had only two men on the mat and Jaipur’s best raider Arjun Deshwal stepped into the opposition half looking for an all-out with Surjeet Singh on his left and Sahil Surender on the right. He was trying to touch both the men and in the process, stepped out of the line, ruling himself out. But within seconds, Surjeet caught hold of the raider’s right leg.

It was such a strong hold as Surjeet unleashed all his strength on the raider. Arjun tried too hard to escape from the hold but Surjeet was in no mood to give up as he wanted two points for his team badly. Arjun gave his best and he even inched closer to the mid line but it was not enough as Surjeet triumphed in the end.
Surjeet’s brillaint effort has made him the second defender to successfully perform the solo super tackle in the league’s history. Just a week ago, U Mumba’s Rinku Singh achieved the feat becoming the first man to perform a solo super tackle when he did it against Patna Pirates.
