Dramatic Labs shook up the whole Star Trek community when they revealed that a new Star Trek game is on its way and is already under development. If Dramatic Labs doesn’t sound familiar, it is a newly formed studio founded by the many former developers from Telltale Games. They were famous for their works on The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, The Wolf Among Us and the popular, Minecraft. They announced the upcoming Star Trek Resurgence during the Game Awards 2021 including a trailer which revealed quite a few details about the game.

According to various reports, Star Trek Resurgence is set to be a third-person narrative adventure game and will be based on the year 2380. This will make the game follow the events occured on Star Trek: The Next Generation. The Studio claims that they are a group of independent developers, writers, designers, producers and artists, who are passionate about the future of interactive storytelling. GameSpot noted that Dramatic Labs consists of several talents from Telltale which includes two former lead writers, Andrew Grant and Dan Martin. Dramatic Labs made their debut at the Game Awards 2021 with the introduction of the Star Trek Resurgence trailer.
Star Trek Resurgence – Gameplay
Star Trek Resurgence is expected to drop in the mid of 2022 and will be available on PC, Xbox and PlayStation consoles. Kevin Bruner, the founder of the Dramatic Labs said, “As fans of Star Trek, it’s truly an honour to be crafting a story which puts players right in the heart of the action, where significant choices and decisions will affect the entire narrative. Built from the ground up using Epic’s Unreal engine and our proprietary narrative engine, this game showcases our team’s evolution in creating thought-provoking story-rich adventures”.
