Pro Kabaddi PKL 8: Tamil Thalaivas lock horns with Haryana Steelers; Jaipur face tough Delhi challenge
Tamil Thalaivas vs Haryana Steelers [7.30 PM]
Having played out a tie in their last match, Thalaivas will be eyeing three points on the board against the Steelers while Haryana come into this game after winning their previous encounter against defending champions Bengal Warriors.
With defenders Surjeet Singh and Surender Nada set to play on either side of the mat, It will be an interesting battle between both these teams as both these seasoned players lead the tacklers points table having successfully earned 22 tackle points so far in the league.
Tamil Thalaivas have been performing well in the defence with captain Surjeet Singh leading from the front. He is ably supported by Sagar, who is repaying the faith shown by the Tamil Thalaivas on him after they retained him this season ahead of the auction. He currently has the most number of High 5s in the league (3). For the Steelers too, defender Jaideep is having a great season as he also has 22 tackle points to his name.
The raiders from both the teams will be vary of the strength in defence that both these teams possess. Manjeet has been the main raider for the Thalaivas while captain Vikas Kandola is the star raider for the Steelers. With both the teams almost equally poised in terms of their strengths, a riveting battle is on the cards when both these teams step on the mat.
Jaipur Pink Panthers vs Dabang Delhi [8.30 pm]
Jaipur faces a tough challenge when they take on the Dabang Delhi, who are currently on top of the table. The Panthers enter this contest after having won their last match against Puneri Paltan, thereby ending their three-match losing streak. The champions of the inaugural edition are plagued by inconsistent performances this season.
The only shining light for them is the performance of young raider Arjun Deshwal who has picked up seven consecutive Super 10s so far this season. Senior pro Deepak Hooda hasn’t been at his best and it has become a one-man show for the men in pink. Their defence also lacks quality as they have the worst tackle strike rate this season.
For Delhi too Naveen has been exceptional in the raids. But during their last game when Naveen was out of the mat, Vijay showed what he can do as he kept the board ticking, earning crucial points. Delhi will hope Vijay continues his good form. But Delhi’s defence too has been error-prone and that will be something that Arjun would look to target.
