Pokemon GO unveils a new event for the Season of Heritage- Mountains of Power. The Season of Heritage story in Pokemon GO continues in 2022 and a new event has been introduced for the trainers. For those who have not followed the lore till now, Spark has discovered that the mysterious door’s second mechanism requires the help of a Rock and Steel-type Pokemon for unlocking. Trainers will now explore the terrain mountainous regions, like the ones found in Johto and Sinnoh, to work with Spark and continue solving the mystery of the door.

The Mountains of Power event will start on Friday, 7th January at 10:00 AM and will be available till Thursday 13th January at 08:00 PM at local timings. Here are the different parts of the event that trainers can participate in.

Event Bonus

Trainers now need to walk half the distance to earn hearts with their buddies.

Timed Research

There will be Timed Research tasks that will feature catching Pokemons, hatching Eggs, and earning Buddy Candy. Trainers will get chances to encounter the following Pokemons by completing their Timed Research tasks:

  • Mawille (normal and rare Shiny encounter)
  • Beldum (normal and rare Shiny encounter)

Wild Encounters

As the Pokemon GO trainers traverse their surroundings to complete tasks, they will see the following Pokemons appearing more frequently in the wild.

  • Zubat (normal and rare Shiny encounter)
  • Machop (normal and rare Shiny encounter)
  • Geodude (normal and rare Shiny encounter)
  • Slugma (normal and rare Shiny encounter)
  • Nosepass (normal and rare Shiny encounter)
  • Barboach (normal and rare Shiny encounter)

If you are lucky enough you can also find out these two rare Pokemons:

  • Onix (normal and rare Shiny encounter)
  • Ferroseed (normal and rare Shiny encounter)

It will be the first time that trainers will have a chance to encounter the Shiny variant of Slugma.

Raids

Raid bosses are a popular activity among Pokemon GO trainers as they have to work together to bring down these large Pokemons. The following Pokemons will be available for the different types of raids:

  • One-Star Raids
    • Alolan Geodude (normal and rare Shiny encounter)
    • Onix (normal and rare Shiny encounter)
    • Beldum (normal and rare Shiny encounter)
    • Bronzor (normal and rare Shiny encounter)
  • Three-Star Raids
    • Ursaring
    • Donphan
    • Medicham
    • Absol (normal and rare Shiny encounter)
  • Five-Star Raids
    • Heatran (normal and rare Shiny encounter)
  • Mega Raids
    • Mega Aerodactyl (normal and rare Shiny encounter)

Field Research Tasks

Another way to complete the event is to go and do the Field Research Tasks. Trainers who complete them will have the following Pokemon encounters available.

  • Alolan Geodude
  • Slugma

If trainers are lucky, they might also get a chance to encounter Mawille and its Shiny variant.
