The Indian bowling attack was one fire right from the start as they sent half of the Bangladeshi batters back to the pavilion in the first 15 overs. Ravi Kumar and Rajangad Bawa struck twice while Rajvardhan Hangarekar took the fifth wicket to put India in a commanding position.

Earlier, Riding on Shaik Rasheed’s unbeaten 90, India have set a competitive target of 244 runs for Bangladesh in the U-19 Asia Cup Semi-final. India had a shacky start with wickets falling at regular intervals but Shaik Rasheed kept hold of one end and steered the side to a good total. Rasheed slammed three fours and one six in his 90 runs knock. For Bangladesh, Rakibul Hasan was the pick of the bowlers returning with the figures of 3-41.

India avenged their U-19 World Cup loss in 2020 against Bangladesh in the semifinals. India were coming into the game on the back of wins against Afghanistan and UAE but had lost to arch-rivals Pakistan. Bangladesh, on the other hand, had won their first two matches against Nepal & Kuwait after COVID led to No Result in their third game against Sri Lanka.
