IPL 2022 Auction: No love lost between Warner & SRH – It has been just a month since David Warner and Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise SunRisers Hyderabad parted ways. David Warner mocked SRH head coach Tom Moody after the latter congratulated him on the Ashes triumph. Following Moody’s congratulatory message for the Australian team, a fan suggested that the franchise has a good auction and picks good players for IPL 2022.

“How about having a good auction for srh tom? Please,” a fan tweeted.
“Baha doubt it,” David Warner had tweeted while replying to the fan’s tweet.
Sunrisers Hyderabad took it in sportingly. Despite the mocking tone, the franchise wished him luck in the auction.
“Congrats on the Ashes win Davey – Looks like you are back to form and enjoying the after party! On the other hand we hope you have a good auction!” SRH tweeted, responding to Warner’s tweet.

It is important to note that Warner was released by SRH before the mega auction for IPL 2022. The left-handed batter was stripped off the captaincy and was even left out of the match-day squad.

While David Warner always claimed that he wanted to remain with Sunrisers Hyderabad but the franchise outraged the fans by freezing him in the squad. SRH, although, didn’t make an impact, finishing at the bottom of the points table with just three wins.
However, David Warner shrugged off his disappointment and poor form, leading Australia to their T20 World Cup title. He was the second-top scorer in the tournament with 289 runs in 7 matches and was awarded the Player of the Tournament.

In the Ashes 2021, he continued his impressive form, scoring 94 in the first Test and followed it up with 95 in the second Test. Australia retained the Ashes title after humiliating England with an innings and 14-run win in the 3rd Test at the MCG.
Pacer Scott Boland took six wickets in the second innings as Australia defeated England by an innings and 14 runs in the third Ashes Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Tuesday.
With this win, Australia regained the Ashes as the hosts have gained an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-match series.
