Manchester United dropped two points against the bottom side Newcastle United in a 1-1 draw. Follow InsideSport.IN for the latest news and updates.

Gary Neville lashed out at the two Portuguese players for their attitude and body language during the game at St. James’ Park. Gary Neville who is a Sky Sports pundit expressed his concerns over the player’s performance and how it would be difficult for any manager to stay at the club.

Manchester United: Gary Neville slams Bruno Fernandes and Ronaldo

Neville has laid into Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes for their body language during and after Manchester United’s scrappy 1-1 draw at Newcastle. He took issue with his former team-mate Ronaldo for storming off the pitch without joining the rest of his side in thanking the supporters who had made the journey to Newcastle.

“You’ve got to be there when your team-mates need you in those moments, I don’t care how you’ve played, You need to go over and clap the fans at the end of the game. Get over to them, particularly when you’re the best player in the world, and one of the greatest of all time” said Neville on Monday Night Football.

“At the end of the day, I love that lad [Ronaldo], he’s the best I’ve ever seen in my life at times, but don’t run off like that. I’m not having that. We talk about body language. We talked about it earlier in the season when Ronaldo ran off at the end of the Everton game. He’s run off again tonight,” Neville added.

Gary Neville also hit out at Fernandes for moaning during the game and failing to lead by example, and praised Cavani who came on and scored United’s equaliser to rescue a point. Speaking about the Uruguayan he said, “Cavani takes that away. I don’t think Cavani wilts in the presence of Ronaldo or Fernandes, I think he stands up to them and helps other young players on the pitch. He needs to be on the pitch.”

“And there’s Fernandes whinging too. They’re the two senior players. It’s devastating for younger players when the two best players are looking at every other player like they’re not good enough,” Neville added.

Neville revealed his anger with United’s two Portuguese stars has been brewing for some time this season, which the team began with so much hope after they pulled Ronaldo back to Old Trafford and also signed a world class defender in Raphael Varane.

Neville also criticised Varane, who gave the ball away in the build up to Allan Saint-Maximin’s opening goal in the seventh minute, and hit out at captain Harry Maguire adding, “The two centre-backs were poor at the back, Maguire is having a nightmare season.” “They got the last manager the sack. Ralf Rangnick isn’t going to be sacked — but they’ll get a lot of managers sacked if they carry on like that.”

In response to a question asked by the reporter regarding comments from Gary Neville, Ralf Rangnick replied saying, “Today was not a question of body language, it was a question of body physicality. If you want to be competitive here you have to get physical and this was not the case in many parts of the game.”

Manchester United obviously need more time under their new manager to train and get all the tactics right. A 16 day day gap after closing down their training complex hasn’t helped them. For pundits to trash players performances isn’t always right, but definitely United do need to play better football if they want to make a place a in the Top 4. Currently the only player who is having a positive season is David De Gea who has made a total of 60 saves in the Premier League saved 2 penalties in his 17 appearances keeping 4 clean sheets.
