Elden Ring is the upcoming action role-playing game by Bandai Namco, which was first revealed in the third quarter of 2019.  Developers didn’t shed much light on Elden Ring in 2020, everyone knew it was coming but nobody got any glimpses of the game. The game is under development by FromSoftware with the collaborative effort between the world renowned fantasy novelist George R. R Martin and the game director Hidetaka Miyazaki. Now, Elden Ring gives off some serious Dark Souls Vibes. Hidetaka Miyazaki, the director of Elden Ring confirmed that the gameplay is heavily based on the Soul series.

The Game will be a third person open-world dark fantasy RPG and will also feature music from the Sekiro composer Yuka Kitamura and Dark Souls 3. Launch date of the Elden Ring is relatively closer than what everyone was expecting. It isn’t making it out in 2021 but the game will finally launch on February 25, 2022 which was initially January 21 when the game was revealed.Elden Ring’s gameplay trailer shows a lot of similarities with the Souls series. Fans will find very similar combat styles and animations. Spellcasting, backstabbing, dodging and rolling are very familiar with previous Souls games. As far as stamina bars are concerned, FromSoftware says, “The stamina bar exists in Elden Ring, but we feel it has less influence on the player overall. We wanted to make it feel less restrictive”.

Elden Ring has also confirmed that it will feature co-op for up to four players. Players can summon their friends for co-op and like the Souls games, they will appear as phantoms. The gameplay trailer also revealed several more features about Elden Ring’s world. There will be weather and a time system in the world. The world is divided into six main areas, which will consist of their own bosses and dungeons. The players will be able to interchange skills among all kinds of weapons and can also jump and fight on a horseback. More to come, as the launch date comes closer.
