IND vs SA LIVE – Day 3 Stumps at Centurion, India lead by 146 runs: Mohammed Shami’s brilliant fifer has put India back in the driver’s seat after batting collapse in the morning. After losing 7 wickets for just 55 runs in the first session, M Shami, Shardul Thakur, and M Siraj bowled beautifully in tandem to shot out the hosts for just 197 runs, providing a crucial 130-run first-innings lead. Follow India vs South Africa LIVE Updates on InsideSport.IN

At stumps India led by 146 runs with loss of Mayank Agarwal’s wicket. Agarwal departed cheaply but nightwatchman Shardul Thakur & first-innings centurion KL Rahul ensured the tourists don’t lose any more wickets. On day 3 Stumps, India’s score read 16/1 with 146 runs lead.

Stumps India 327 (Rahul 123, Agarwal 60, Ngidi 6-71, Rabada 3-72) and 16 for 1 (Rahul 5*, Thakur 4*) lead South Africa 197 (Bavuma 52, de Kock 34, Shami 5-44, Bumrah 2-16) by 146 runs
IND vs SA Day 3 Stumps: India in commanding position despite losing Mayank Agarwal cheaply at stumps, lead by 146 runs

Indian Fast Bowlers Shine Again: Earlier, Indian pacers lived up to their reputation by running through the South African top half, reducing the hosts to 109 for 5 at tea. Mohammed Shami (5/44), Jasprit Bumrah (2/16), Mohammed Siraj (1/45), and Shardul Thakur (2/51) all got into the act on a spicy deck with a lot of underlying moisture and eventually bowled out the hosts at the score of 197.

Credit to India that despite losing Bumrah for a better part of the second session due to sprained ankle, they didn’t let the intensity down even after Temba Bavuma (31 batting) and Quinton de Kock (34) had added 72 runs for the fifth wicket.

De Kock’s loose shot off a long hop from Thakur that saw him drag one back onto his stumps literally put the Proteas in the dumps. This was after Bumrah bowled a beautiful length with the tiniest movement that had Dean Elgar edging one to Rishabh Pant.

Coming in as one change, Shami bowled an in-cutter that breached Keegan Peterson’s defence and then bowled a late leg cutter that beat Aiden Markram’s outside edge. Rassie van der Dussen found Siraj’s pace too hot to handle and the outside edge was comfortably snapped at gully by Ajinkya Rahane.

In the morning session, KL Rahul and Ajinkya Rahane resumed Day 3 play at 272/3. Unfortunately, the duo got out cheaply which triggered a collapse. Lungi Ngidi completed a fifer and Kagiso Rabada returned with key wickets after a dismal Day 1 show. India tried to reach a decent total but could manage just 55 runs for 7 wickets in the first session.
