WWE Smackdown Results: Check out the BEST & WORST of this week’s Smackdown- Three matches and Paul Heyman’s interview segment were the things announced for this week’s show. The Christmas Special edition of the show didn’t feature Roman Reigns or Brock Lesnar, which certainly killed the audience interest. That being said, we are here with the Best & Worst of this week’s Smackdown and without any further ado, let’s get close to these moments.

WWE Smackdown Results: Paul Heyman’s segment (BEST)

WWE Smackdown Results: Paul Heyman got interviewed backstage in the opening segment of the night. Heyman reflected upon what transpired last week between him and Roman Reigns. Heyman was fired by the Universal Champion last week on Smackdown, and this interview revolved around the same.

Heyman told Kayla that he got embarrassed and humiliated publically last week, but he doesn’t regret telling the truth to Roman Reigns because it was his role to protect the champion and the championship from the wrath of the Beast Incarnate Brock Lesnar. Paul Heyman was then asked about his future, and he said that he may move to NXT now and start from scratch, or it may be time for him to acknowledge that his career is most probably over.

WWE Smackdown Results: Only three matches in the night (WORST)

One of the most annoying things about tonight’s show was the match card. Only three matches were there for the crowd to enjoy. The night kicked off with the Smackdown Women’s Championship bout between Charlotte Flair and Toni Storm, followed by the 12-man Gauntlet to determine the #1 Contender for the Intercontinental Championship, and a Street Fight that saw Drew McIntyre, The New Day, going up against The Usos & Madcap Moss. The lack of matches on the match card didn’t go too well for the show.

WWE Smackdown Results: Sami Zayn winning the 12-man Gauntlet match (BEST)

Sami Zayn has been in the spotlight for quite a few weeks on Friday Night Smackdown. He was involved in the Universal Championship scenario a few weeks back, and now he has become the new #1 contender for the Intercontinental Championship.

WWE Smackdown Results: Here are the BEST & WORST moments of this week’s Smackdown

Sami Zayn defeated Ricochet in the closing moments of the 12-man Gauntlet match to earn a shot at the Intercontinental title. He needed this win badly and now should turn his focus on reclaiming the title he loves the most in the company.

WWE Smackdown Results: No Roman Reigns or Brock Lesnar on the show (WORST)

Besides Roman Reigns & Brock Lesnar, Smackdown has never elevated any other superstar to carry the show. Without Roman Reigns or Brock Lesnar, Friday Night looked a bit pale, and only Drew McIntyre was the top guy to feature tonight in the main event. Therefore, without the presence of Roman Reigns or Brock Lesnar, who are involved in a back & forth rivalry, Smackdown was a bit pale tonight.
