According to a dataminer known as Temporyal, Battlefield 2042 could be released in March 2022 and include a new map called Exposure. The first-person shooter was published on November 19, 2021, however, the first season may take a few months longer. Temporyal, a Battlefield dataminer, just revealed what they claim are 12 weeks of pre-season weekly challenges in the game client on Twitter. This amount of weeks brings us to March of next year, implying that the whole first season will not be released until then.

The first season of Battlefield 2042 is expected to include various game upgrades as well as new content. The makers of the game have revealed that the future DLC would contain a new area set in a Canadian/American research center in British Columbia. New Specialists, weaponry, and game types will be introduced in the new season. Along with the additional content, a new Battle Pass will be released.

Battlefield 2042, billed as a live service experience, with years of new content releases ahead of it if everything goes according to plan. According to EA and DICE, the first year of the live service would offer four different seasons in total. Players may expect four Battle Passes, as well as the same number of Specialists and new maps, over the course of the four seasons. And, in the run-up to the first season, the developer intends to keep releasing Preseason bonuses like Weekly Missions and Limited-Time Modes like the newly launched Attack of the Elves mode.

The 64-player Conquest mode and the aforementioned Attack of the Elves mode were just added to Battlefield 2042 as limited-time options. In the latter, a team of Santas faces off against a team of Elves in a festive infection-style mode that will end on January 6, 2022.
