83: ICC pays special tribute to Kapil Dev & Co- With the 1983 World Cup winner garnering all the limelight after the release of the biggest sports tale in Indian Cricket, ICC decided to post a special message for Virat Kohli & Co. Cricket Broadcaster Mark Nicholas, who has worked as a commentator for more than a couple of decades, depicted the journey of the 83 World Cup under Kapil Dev.

“Kapil Dev with his much ability as anyone who has played cricket, he was mentally strong, always talking about the game he thinks tough.

He famously said we might not have a winning total but boys we have a total to fight with and they did. And the sight of Kapil running back to the grandstand to catch Vivian Richards over the right shoulder is one of the great sights in cricket as is the moment of victory. It was not just celebrated by Indian people in England but Indians all over the world who had the party of their lives on that night.
