“We have people who are off on an adventure and people who are building and people who are playing together, and all those ways of playing are important to us,” Lydia Winters, Minecraft Chief Storyteller told The Verge. Winters also added, “The reason why Minecraft has been so successful on YouTube is that YouTube videos are a way to tell stories. So then when you have Minecraft, and you can tell any story you want in a Minecraft world, it’s a big reason why we have so many people creating Minecraft content,”
The knot between Minecraft and YouTube is so successful because creators could utilize the creative aspects of both platforms to present fresh, innovative and fun to watch content. It also showed how people from different parts of the world interpret similar themes and ideas. 2020 and 2021 have been a great time for female content creators too, with Aphmau taking the crown for maximum views on her Minecraft videos.
To celebrate this huge breakthrough YouTube released a video that begins with the famous song, We Built The City, by Starship, with certain alterations connected with the game. They have also launched a “Minecraft Museum” video to celebrate this huge amount of Minecraft content.
Given the growing popularity of the title, it is unlikely that the game will die any time soon. The community is hungry, more than ever, for more creative content around it.
