With Paul Pogba still recovering from his injury in Dubai, Ralf Rangnick has not had the chance to meet him personally but in his press conference, he told the media that he spoke to Paul Pogba on call and he will soon be returning to full training. He also mentioned that it is not necessary to convince the player personally to stay at the club which has given few hints over Pogba’s future at Manchester United.

Rangnick on Paul Pogba: “We spoke over the phone on Tuesday. He was still in Dubai, he is expected to come back today and then we get to know each other in person on Sunday. We have had a telephone call. He told me he is getting better but he is still not fully fit.”

“I wouldn’t say he’s not worth keeping but, of course, players have to want to play and stay for a club and a big club like United.”

Pogba’s agent has suggested that his player has received several offers including a extension from Manchester United and he also says that Bayern Munich will not be able to pay Pogba’s high salary demands.

Mino Raiola comments on the French International’s future in September 2018 saying, “Pogba’s contract expires next year. We will talk to Manchester (United) and see. For sure Turin has remained in his heart and he cares a lot about these things. The possibility of returning to Juventus is there but it also depends on Juve.”

Manchester United are no doubt a popular club but when it comes to player agents, they always seem to have a different opinion. An example of this is when Donny Van de Beek wasn’t given much playing time under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his agent spoke to the media regarding how the player is being treated at Manchester United.

Recent comments have come in from Anthony Martial’s agent who has bluntly said that his player wants to leave the club in January.

Anthony Martial has started just 2 matches this season while making 5 appearances from the bench in the Premier League and scoring his only goal this season at home against Everton. With loads of attacking options for the Red Devils a move away for Martial could be imminent anytime soon.

The most in-demand youngster currently in Europe along with Kylian Mbappe is Erling Haaland who has been linked to the club since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was named the club manager. Mino Raiola, who is also the the Norwegian’s agent, suggested that Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, FC Barcelona & Manchester City are the possible clubs who Haaland could join.

But Ralf Rangnick is now solely looking forward to knowing his players and getting results as there is still a few weeks left for the January Transfer window to begin and it will be very difficult and unlikely to get Haaland on board in the winter following his team’s exit from the Champions League.

Ralf Rangnick on his Winter transfer plans: “We need to make sure that players want to stay here. If they see not getting enough game time here, it might make sense to speak individually with the players to see if a loan deal might make sense, but right now, it’s still too early to speak about that.”
