Their sons will be in action in the upcoming U-15 Inter-District Youth Cricket Tournament organized and conducted by Sri Lanka Cricket Island wide.

Young Naren Muralitharan has previously shown signs of his father’s footsteps with excellent achievements over the last couple of years. A couple of years ago, he scored unbeaten 162 runs against Anada Shastralaya, Kotte while representing Gateway College Colombo in the All-Island Schools U-15 tournament. Naren has been also witnessed emulating his father in a video that went viral on social media. The legendary spinner has shared the video with the title: “Father and son time.”

Muralitharan has taken 1347 wickets for Sri Lanka, including record 800 wickets in Tests. He took the remaining 534 wickets in ODIs and 13 scalps in T20I.

Meanwhile, Sanath Jayasuriya has been also coaching his son since a young age. The youngster is also a left-handed batsman. He had previously shown a video of his son which showed the boy playing a wide range of shots in a cricket academy. The Junior Jayasuriya showed the pure class that we have witnessed during his father’s prolific career.

The Sri Lanka legend Jayasuriya had scored record 13,430 runs in ODIs and 6973 in Tests. He also took 323 wickets during his impressive career. His performance contributed to Sri Lanka winning their only 50-over World Cup.
