Given the worldwide phenomenon it has become, it only makes sense that Squid Game wants to collab with the most acclaimed mobile battle royale in the world. Free Fire, Garena’s battle royale title had introduced Squid Game’s iconic ‘Red Light, Green Light’ in the game as a special event mode. It looks like BGMI, or its global iteration – PUBG Mobile will introduce something similar, but unlike Free Fire, this may be an official collab. Krafton has been recently gaining a lot of positivity from the player base due to the ambiguous collaborations they have been doing recently. The game is currently collaborating with Arcane, the League of Legends inspired series by Riot Games, which has beaten Squid Game as the most-watched series on Netflix.
Players are super satisfied with the new Mirror World event mode as part of the collab, especially because of the fact that they are able to score extra kills and increase their F/D ratio in each match. That said, Squid Game original series has been more popular in the region which may attract even more players to part-take in the collab event. However, not much details are available right now to confirm what the actual gameplay might look like.
BGMI x Squid Game collaboration: Gameplay
As per the leaks, the mode will likely adapt the iconic ‘Red Light, Green Light’ mode in BGMI as well where players have to cross a distance in a given time limit. The rules are, players can only move or walk ahead when the mic shouts green light. When it dictates red light again, players must stop moving and be absolutely still if they don’t wish to get eliminated. The main objective is to cross the finish line before the timer runs out. A new survival challenge for players who are a fan of battle royales. It will be fun for casual players as well who don’t prefer to grind for hours to get good in gunfights.
All that said, things are not yet confirmed by the officials, so, stay tuned. According to YouTubers, the mode is likely to go live in the game on December 20 as a special Arcade Mode.
