IND beat NZ: Virat Kohli & Co donate Rs 35,000 to Wankhede Curator- Following the footsteps of head coach Rahul Dravid, the Indian Cricket Team donated Rs 35,000 to Wankhede Pitch curator. The move was for a token of appreciation for preparing the pitch that didn’t end within three days. The sporting pitch saw the game reach Day 4. Earlier, Dravid had given the same amount to Green Park Stadium pitch curator from his own salary after the match had lasted for all five days.

Dravid was excited to guide India to their first Test victory under his regime by missing by the narrowest of margins in Kanpur. He was impressed with the way the youngsters took the opportunities and stepped up to their roles.
“I think it was good to finish the series as winners, came close in Kanpur, not able to get that last wicket, had to work hard here. This result seems one-sided, but right through the series, we were made to work hard. There have been phases where we were behind and had to fight back, credit to the team. Great to see the boys stepping up and taking their opportunities,” Dravid told host broadcaster Star Sports after the game ended.
The test match was dominated entirely by spinners as 33 out of 37 wickets that fell went to the spinners.
The caravan now moves to India Tour of South Africa. The selection committee will name a 20-member side with extra net bowlers for Test and ODI series. The series is slated to take place from December 26 despite Omicron threat.
