IND vs NZ: Ravichandran Ashwin makes special appeal to Twitter, says Ajaz Patel definitely deserves to be there
“Well done on joining a club that eludes 99 percent of the bowlers that play the game @AjazP. 10 for in an innings is the stuff of dreams,” Ashwin had tweeted back then tagging the left-arm spinner, most probably noticing that the handle was not verified by the social media giant.
On Monday, after India convincingly won the Test series by a 372-run win in Mumbai, Ashwin first gifted a signed Indian cricket team jersey to Ajaz Patel before interviewing him. That’s not just it, the Chennai-born then mentioned the Mumbai-born again in his Twitter post, this time indirectly.
Ashwin who himself had a special last few days, has urged Twitter to verify Ajaz Patel’s handle. He has mentioned Ajaz Patel’s special feat to put weight on his request.

Ajaz Patel’s rare feat has not just celebrated by his countrymen, family and teammates, but the welcoming Indian cricket team has also left no stone unturned to make the moment a memorable one for the 33-year-old. Rahul Dravid and Virat Kohli had personally congratulated Patel, and on Monday Ashwin on behalf of the entire Team Indian squad gave a jersey with signs of all his teammates on it.
