India vs Pakistan Match: Notably, the swashbuckling Indian opener was dismissed for a golden duck in the match and the massive wicket immediately created panic which saw India lose three wickets in the Powerplay overs.
Shaheen Shah Afridi with his deadly pace and accuracy was at the top of his game, hunting down India’s top three in Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul and Virat Kohli. India could never recover from the early blows and eventually lost the match by 10 wickets. The win for Pakistan was even more especial as it was their first against the arch-rivals at the World Cups.
How Ramiz plotted Rohit Sharma’s Dismissal? Ramiz Raja has revealed that Rohit Sharma’s dismissal was plotted by him long before the match on October 24. According to the former Pakistan captain, he had directed Babar Azam to lay the trap for the destructive Indian opener by getting left-arm pacer Shaheen Afridi to bowl in-swinging yorkers at express pace.
“I asked [Babar] what are your plans against India,” said Raja in a BBC podcast interview.
According to Raja, Babar Azam replied that he has plans and that the team intends to use Cricviz and do the matchups.
“I understand but India will also be using Cricviz and then they will have a ploy set up against you too,” Raja had responded to Babar Azam.

“I understand but India will also be using Cricviz and then they will have a ploy set up against you too,” the PCB chairman had responded to Babar Azam.
“So, that becomes nothing for us,” he had added.
The 59-year-old had then told Babar Azam to “get Shaheen Afridi bowling at 100mph, get a man at short-leg and a 45.”
“Just bowl that inswinging yorker at 100mph and do not give him a single and keep him on strike,” Raja had told him.
“You will get him out.”
On the fourth ball of the first over, Shaheen Afridi had ran in briskly and bowled a sensational out-swinging yorker to undo the India star, who had tormented the Pakistan side with a massive hundred in the 2019 World Cup in England.
